Thinktank Website

Problem

The Belfer Center is the world’s most prestigious hub for research impacting public policy at the nexus of science and international affairs.

The Center was seeking to redesign their website to be a world-class expression of its mission to provide policy leadership and have its technology match its  strategic ambition.

As such, the goal for the new BelferCenter.org was to be an indispensable source for research athrough having a more accessible, compelling presentation of existing content, a flexible platform to support multimedia-rich content in the future, a clearer articulation of our brand, and more powerful and intuitive search functionality.

Information Architecture

The original BelferCenter.org was built on a custom content management system that had become unsupported and outdated, not to mention vulnerable to security threats. For the new site, it was important to have content migrated to a widely-used and well-supported content management system  that would better support future updates and integrate third-party applications.

Solution

The Center wanted a new and improved front-end design to match the sturdier back-end. The new design reflects brand guidelines and leverages the tools and functionalities a modern CMS offers.

It was expected the new site be built in a responsive format supported by many devices and browsers.
